How Mosquitoes Contribute To The Ecosystem In Chandler

Nothing ruins an outdoor event quite like mosquitoes do. While it may seem like a great idea to just get rid of mosquitoes entirely, that’s unfortunately not a good idea. Believe it or not, but mosquitoes play a larger role in our ecosystem’s balance than we’d like to admit, and decimating their populations would have ripple effects on other species.

What do mosquitos do?

Mosquitoes are a nutritious meal option for many different types of fish and birds. If we were to get rid of mosquitoes everywhere, we would see a dramatic decrease in the populations of other important species. In addition, while bumblebees are most people’s favorite type of pollinating insect, mosquitoes are important to this process as well, as male mosquitoes exclusively eat nectar.

So while it may not be a good idea to cause a mass mosquito extinction, it is still important to repel them from your yard, especially here in Chandler.
